Shahmeer Azmat is a nursing student at PWSC. He grew up in Pakistan and was inspired to go into the medical field after volunteering at an emergency department in his home city of 20 million people. During the summers he works as a wilderness therapy guide and he is an avid outdoor recreationist.

Jeremiah Sims grew up in Valdez. He took dual-credit classes in high school with George Keeney. George became a mentor of his (along with a few others). Jeremiah is currently in the millwright program and will be graduating this spring.

The former fire chief and emergency manager for Valdez, George Keeney, started as an adjunct instructor teaching emergency medical services (EMS) at PWSC. He is now a full-time faculty member and has been working to expand the EMS programming at PWSC.
Jack Hebert, CEO & Founder Cold Climate Housing Research Center will be in Valdez for a public presentation on March 20. He will discuss current projects and ways to incorporate cold climate technology into home construction, remodeling, and winterization in Valdez.
