Prince William Sound College Scholarships

All new and current full-time PWSC students admitted to financial aid eligible degree and certificate programs may apply for PWSC scholarships. All PWSC scholarships are competitive awards sponsored with funds raised primarily from local support. Eligibility, application deadlines, and award amounts vary by scholarship. More information on each scholarship are provided below. Only one application is needed for PWSC Student Scholarships.

Award amounts vary, but range from $250-$1250 per semester.

Please contact the Student Affairs with any questions at 907-834-1600 or email pwsc.student.services@alaska.edu.

All scholarships will be disbursed after the add/drop deadline each semester.

How to apply:

  1. Log in to AcademicWorks with your UA username and password. (To find your UA Username, UA ID Number and set/reset your password visit me.uaa.alaska.edu.)
  2. Complete the General Application and any supplemental applications presented. The system syncs with your data. You are automatically matched with scholarship opportunities for which you meet the criteria and the system provides additional "recommended" scholarships that may be available to you. Any additional requested essays or references must also be submitted in the portal by the application deadline. Reminder! All UA scholarships are due February 15, but PWSC scholarships are due always due ten days before the semester (August 16, 2019).
  3. After you complete the applications, you're done! If you are awarded a scholarship you will receive an award email to your UA email address. You can also check on the status of your application by logging back into the system at any time.
  4. Follow up! The system also includes information on private and external scholarships. These deadlines change often so check back under "External" opportunities.

Deadline reminder:

Your completed General Application will be archived and removed from the system in August. You must complete a new General Application at the beginning of each fall semester. If "Financial Need" is a requirement for non-PWSC scholarships, you must file a FAFSA between October 1 and February 15. The deadline to apply for most UA scholarships is February 15.
