PWSC theatre opportunities

The Valdez Theatre Conference is a part of two digital theatre presentations this month. First, Cyrano’s Theatre Company will be rebroadcasting the VTC’s production of Lia Romeo’s Sitting and Talking, starring Laura Gardner and Frank Collison. It tells the story of two seniors finding romance with each other during the initial onset of Covid-19, and was wildly well received in its initial presentation last year. Cyrano’s will make the production available again February 13-15.

The second is Padraic Lillis’ one-man show Hope You Get to Eleven, in which he talks about his lifetime of dealing with suicidal ideation. The show is warm and funny, filled with good advice and gripping recounts of his personal experiences. This show will be available February 25-28.

Both shows provide the audience with intimate access to the actors, playing to one of the few advantages of Zoom theatre: the ability to relate more closely with the performers than one can even in a live in-person performance. Both run under an hour and are being presented completely free of charge to the audiences. The links to stream them will be on www.theatreconference.org. questions can be addressed to Coordinator Dawson Moore at 907-255-5325 or dlmoore@alaska.edu.
