PWSC is now offering 3 new Occupational Endorsement Certificates (OEC) in Web Engineering, Marine Service Technician, and Construction Skills. OECs are a great way to quickly learn and develop skills for employability! Also, new this year: students can now complete any two OECs and then take additional credits to meet the 60 credit requirement to complete an associate degree.
SALE BY BID: An 8X12 cabin built by students in the PWSC Construction Academy Program, constructed by the PWSC Campus of the University of Alaska in Valdez, and the Copper River School District in Glennallen, completed during the 2018-2019 academic school year.
Outdoor leadership student Amanda Wygant is bringing a whole new meaning to the term “class project.” As a culminating project for two courses, one in outdoor leadership and the other in risk management, Wygant has taken on the task of developing an outdoor leadership conference to be held at Prince William Sound College (PWSC) in October.
Amanda Glazier, Ph.D., has joined PWSC as the new Assistant Professor of Environmental Science and Biology. Dr. Glazier took some time to tell us about her background and her interest in coming to PWSC and Valdez
July has been a busy month for outdoor leadership student Sarah King. She has spent her summer as an intern at Wrangell St. Elias National Park.
Cherise Beatus is the financial aid coordinator for Prince William Sound College. Her mission is to help students go into as little debt as possible while financing their education.
The 28th Annual Valdez Theatre Conference will take place June 19-26. Last year presented a limited slate of online activities; this year will include a number of live events, though the participants and scope of work will be limited to provide a safe experience.
