teacher instructing students in a shopWe recently had a visit from Roger Mechon, owner of RLM Tech Inc., who taught our millwright program students about the slurry pump. Not only did he go through the entire pump with our students, but he also led them in taking it apart and reassembling it.

This invaluable opportunity was made possible by the generous donation of the slurry pump from his company and Hecla Greens Creek Mine. We are incredibly grateful for the partnership between our millwright program and these two companies. It allows us to provide our students with hands-on, real-world experiences essential to their education.

Having Mechon teach the class brought our students a wealth of knowledge and expertise. He gave them insights into the workings of the pump that they would not have been able to gain from textbooks alone. Additionally, taking apart and reassembling the pump gave our students valuable experience with a critical component of industrial machinery.

Partnerships like these are essential to the success of our millwright program. By working closely with industry professionals and companies, we can ensure that our students learn the skills and knowledge in high demand in the job market. We are thrilled to have had this opportunity, and we look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships with companies like this.

Thank you to Roger Mechon, RLM Tech Inc, and Hecla Greens Creek Mine for donating the slurry pump. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated, and we are excited to see how this experience will impact our students' education and future careers.
