Meet the students: David Christensen
When asked about how he ended up in Valdez, Alaska, outdoor leadership student David Christensen quickly replied, “I am here because of my wife, Asia. If it weren’t for her, I would not have been able to come.” For Christensen, coming to Alaska was contingent upon his wife agreeing to make the move from California.
A journey towards better health
George Keeney is on a personal journey towards better health, and he is doing it with the guidance and support from Erin Hickok, PWSC’s Health and Fitness Coordinator. George’s motivation is his desire to: “be physically fit for next fall’s moose hunt.

Meet the instructors of PWSC's Construction Academy
Students from rural communities throughout Alaska have traveled to Valdez to attend PWSC’s Construction Academy. The academy consists of a series of non-credit courses that will train students in the skills needed to earn a State of Alaska Handyman certification. Vicki Heisser interviewed the instructors to learn more.
