She joined us for the Golden Opportunities Luncheon, where she connected with community members in a joyful gathering that celebrated Valdez’s legacy and spirit of resilience.
This summer, three dynamic educators joined Prince William Sound College’s Small Engines 2.1 – Yamaha Maintenance Certifications for Teachers course. They came from different corners of Alaska, but shared a common goal: bring relevant, hands-on technical education back to their students and communities.

The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, designed to meet the ongoing demand for skilled CNAs in the region.
Today, Ryan serves as a TAPS Safety Supervisor, leading a team of professionals who help ensure the safe transportation of crude oil from Prudhoe Bay to Hinchinbrook. With over 25 years of experience in health and safety, he has built a career grounded in continuous growth and professional discipline.
