For the second consecutive year, Anthony Gerasch, marine technology instructor at PWSC, and Isaac Deaton, the career and technical education (CTE) teacher at Valdez High School (VHS), took their students to the 2025 State Leadership and Skills Conference hosted by SkillsUSA Alaska. This year, their students delivered exceptional performances, achieving top placements in marine service technology and power equipment technology.

UA Giving Day starts March 25 at noon and will last 49 hours! We are leveraging this event to raise money for the PWSC Scholarship Fund. Last year, we raised $2,500—here is how we can surpass that this year: PWSC is competing with the other UAA community campuses to unlock an additional $5,000 bonus! Any amount helps—even just $1! Lysette Doran's transition from student to adjunct instructor in the OEC in Marine Services Technology program reflects her dedication and the influence of mentorship. Guided by her instructor, Anthony Gerasch, she completed the Yamaha "Train the Trainer" program in January to enhance her teaching skills in outboard motor maintenance.
