Student spotlight: Trevor Guggenbickler
by V. Heisser |
Trevor Guggenbickle, a student from Wrangell, Alaska, is currently enrolled in the
OEC in Marine Services Technology program at Prince William Sound College (PWSC).
He began his studies four years ago by completing an initial 10-week program. Recently,
Trevor returned to finish training in the now-expanded 16-week certificate program,
eager to complete his education with a renewed focus.
As he works towards finishing the final portion of his program, Trevor is also pursuing
his GED. He speaks highly of the OEC in Marine Services Technology and GED programs
and his instructors—Anthony Gerasch, Lysette Doran, and Dr. Teresa Barton. Trevor
is committed to graduating, earning his certification, and securing a position as
an outboard technician with a local boat company.
Though the program’s curriculum has evolved since he first began, Trevor is on track
to complete the last six weeks of the 16-week program. Due to changes in graduation
requirements, he may need to take an additional welding class, but he remains determined
to meet the standards necessary for certification.
Trevor is incredibly grateful for the support of his instructors, who have dedicated
their time and efforts to his success. He credits the programs with playing a pivotal
role in helping him work towards his educational and career goals, and his resilience
continues to drive him as he looks toward the future.
