Providence offers full tuition reimbursement to students who become PVMC employees, provided that they successfully become certified within 120 days of completing the class. There are several reasons for PhD counselor and therapist Kyra Meyer to speak with our outdoor leadership students about mental health. Outdoor education involves physical challenges and personal growth, significantly impacting mental well-being.
Raife Bowman earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Outdoor Leadership from Prince William Sound College and became a certified Wilderness EMT and AIARE Level 1. Raife founded Arctic Field Craft, focusing on outdoor adventures that connect people with nature. As his business grew, he balanced his roles as an entrepreneur, husband, and father, eventually taking an opportunity to work in Antarctica. We recently met with him to learn about his experiences in Antarctica.

Congratulations to Sam Campbell, assistant professor of English at PWSC. His poem "Echoed" has been accepted for publication in Volume 23, Issue 2 of the Harpur Palate Literary Journal. Sam's poem is scheduled to be published in December 2025, and we all look forward to seeing it in print!
