Laurie Brown is currently attending UAA’s nursing program in Valdez. Originally, she moved to Alaska to work as a river guide, and her love for the outdoors drew her to live near Valdez in the 46-mile neighborhood.
PWSC’s Construction Academy courses hold appeal for many, allowing students to learn the hands-on skills needed to successfully complete projects or build a knowledge base that will help them professionally. We spoke with current student, Linda Lee, about her experience with the Construction Academy.
While many high school students are focused on simply completing their classes, Paxton Crum is taking his high school experience a step further. Currently a high school senior, he has spent the last three semesters taking college credit courses as part of the Mat-Su Middle College School, where he can take free college classes through the UAA system. One of the courses he is currently enrolled in is a computer science course through PWSC.
Cal has been working hard to help winterize the Blueberry and Worthington campgrounds and soon he will assist with the planning and preparation of the Valdez Ice Fest.
Students who enroll in 12 PWSC credits or more, for the Spring 2021 Semester, by December 11, 2020, will receive a $702 credit on their student account!
November is Alaska Native Heritage Month. PWSC will be hosting events as the month continues.
After graduating from PWSC, Jeremy Gallman continued to work at Seed Media in Valdez. He recently worked on a music video with a Christian-worship singer, Beckah Shae.
