PWSC outdoor leadership student Andrew Bradley has found that his college training is useful in ways he never imagined. Andrew has an internship at Providence Valdez Extended Care Center working as an activities and nurse’s assistant.
Outdoor Leadership Student Stories
After graduating from the Valdez High School last year, Rafael Alfaro enrolled at PWSC and is working on completing an Associate of Applied Science in Outdoor Leadership. Rafael is currently working as a production assistant for Seed Media.
Last semester, PWSC student Haason Scott finished his internship at an independent senior facility, in his home state of California, where he served as an activities assistant. For Haason, this internship helped him to get a better sense of what he wants to pursue for his future career.
She grew up in Kenny Lake, Alaska, and is working on obtaining a private pilot’s license. She is a third generation pilot. She grew up in rural Alaska but has lived abroad in different countries including Italy and Thailand.
Being from a military family, Dylan Williams has lived in many places. He has seen and done a lot for a nineteen-year-old. Most recently from Metlakatla, AK, Dylan is an Eagle Scout, graduated valedictorian from his high school, and received a college scholarship to begin his studies at Prince William Sound College (PWSC).
Kay is someone who needs to be outdoors rather than in a traditional classroom setting. This is why the outdoor leadership program was so appealing to him.
Silas Jensen is exactly where he wants to be, doing what he has dreamed about for several years. Jensen is currently enrolled in Prince William Sound College’s (PWSC) outdoor leadership program, and he could not be happier. As Jensen explains, “My father instilled a love of nature and the outdoors in me at an early age.”
