Our Introduction to Forestry students visited Glennallen, Alaska, to meet forestry and conservation professionals and explore career paths in their field.
We were excited to welcome Ahmbra Austin, director of employee experience, and Heather Jensen, media and events coordinator, from the UAA Employee Experience Department, to PWSC this week. Their visit was all about meeting us where we are, learning more about our campus, and sharing resources to help employees feel connected and supported.
Our Outdoor Leadership students came back from a field trip to the Copper Basin, where they met professionals from different organizations. These experiences give students insights into careers in outdoor education and natural resources, helping them build skills and connections in the field.
Invasive species pose serious risks to Alaska’s ecosystems, and PWSC students had the chance to learn first-hand how experts work to spot them before they spread.
