The KIN 287 Leadership and Outdoor Recreation class, under the guidance of Benjamin Rush, assistant professor of outdoor leadership, and Megan Renz, a Kennicott Wilderness guide, went on a four-day adventure to McCarthy, Alaska. This unique learning environment, tailored for second-year students, was a perfect setting to master back-country navigation.

Jane Churchill is completing two natural resources certificates and working towards a two-year outdoor leadership degree. She excelled in PWSC's marine natural resources technician program and needs one more credit to finish. Dr. Amanda Glazier helped her secure an internship at the Alutiiq Pride Marine Institute, where she gained hands-on experience in ocean chemistry, ocean acidification, and research techniques.
Ryan Tulloch recently took a backpacking class with first-year students and is amazed by how much his understanding of outdoor leadership education has deepened over the past year. He witnessed firsthand the growth and development he has undergone since his introduction to the field.
We are thrilled to welcome Carl Oberg to our team. This fall, Carl will be teaching Business Foundations. He aims for the students to understand how business is structured in America and how it intersects with our culture and economy.
We are thrilled to introduce Jason Tippetts, our new instructional design and technology specialist. Jason and his family from Utah will be joining us. He has a passion for technology, experience troubleshooting in a school environment, and a degree in political science.
