Dr. Amanda Glazier, assistant professor of environmental sciences, and Anthony Gerasch, instructor of marine technology, are working with the Alaska Blue Economy Center and the City of Valdez to conduct site assessments for potential kelp and oyster farms in the region.

Mahali Santa Ana is an outdoor leadership student participating in the NPS Alaskans in Parks Internship Program at Wrangell - St. Elias National Park and Preserve this summer. Thanks to a partnership between the National Park Service (NPS) and the Student Conservation Association (SCA), Alaskans can work in summer internships in the National Parks.

Outdoor leadership student, Hannah Bogdan, is interning at Awesome Life Academy, a nonprofit organization for adults with special needs. Hannah writes the curriculum and leads education days. She is also involved in running the mentoring program.

Samantha Eleshansky, a high school student from Cordova, is studying Introduction to Oceanography at PWSC, with tuition and housing covered by the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development's American Rescue Plan Grant. She thanks her biology teacher, Mr. Westing, for sharing this opportunity with his class.
