New Construction Training Program – With Scholarship Opportunity to Cover Tuition & Housing Fully Covered for Students
by Jessica Young |
Prince William Sound College is introducing a new Construction Training Series this spring designed to give students practical, real-world experience in the trades.
This 12-credit program provides students with a strong foundation in essential construction skills — including basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, windows, and framing/siding — all taught through hands-on, project-based learning.
Through grant funding, PWSC will offer free tuition and housing for six students through a scholarship, making this an accessible opportunity for anyone interested in building a career in Alaska’s trades.
Graduates will leave the program with practical, real-world experience that can open doors to entry-level jobs in construction, maintenance, and related industries — or serve as a stepping stone into PWSC’s longer-term technical programs.
