From Student to Supporter: Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods Gives Back to PWSC Scholarship Fund

PWSC would like to thank Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods for their $500 Blue Donor contribution to the PWSC Scholarship Fund during UA Giving Day.

This donation represents more than financial support—it tells a story about education, perseverance, and giving back to the community.

Years ago, Cam Tu was a student in PWSC’s ELL and Citizenship program while working toward U.S. citizenship. Since then, she and her family have built multiple successful businesses in Cordova, including Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods, a family-owned seafood processing company specializing in wild Alaska seafood from the Copper River and Prince William Sound region.

According to the company’s history, Cam Tu and Thai Vu immigrated from Vietnam and settled in Cordova, where they worked in local seafood processing plants. Over time, they saved enough to purchase a commercial fishing boat, entered the salmon fishery, and eventually expanded into a larger seafood processing operation. Officially established in 2014, Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods has grown into an important part of Cordova’s fishing economy and local workforce.

Today, through this Giving Day contribution, Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods is supporting the next generation of PWSC students as they pursue their educational and career goals.

Stories like this are a reminder of the lasting impact education, hard work, and community support can have over time. We are grateful to Camtu’s Alaska Wild Seafoods for investing in PWSC students and Alaska’s future.

Thank you for supporting PWSC Giving Day!
