Challenging Myths, Honoring Survivors: “What Were You Wearing?” at PWSC
by V Heisser |
Last night, Prince William Sound College hosted the powerful “What Were You Wearing?”
installation—part of a nationwide awareness exhibit and marking our fourth year bringing
it to campus.
The installation features outfits representing the experiences of student survivors,
challenging harmful myths and reinforcing a simple truth: clothing is never the cause
of assault.
We are grateful to Advocates for Victims of Violence for leading the effort locally—bringing
and installing the exhibit—and to our partners, Sound Mental Health, Providence Valdez
Counseling Center, and Valdez Native Tribe Victim Services, for their support.
The exhibit will be on display April 1–28, offering a continued opportunity for reflection,
learning, and support.
We honor the courage of those whose stories are represented.
