Interview with dual-credit student Emily Humphrey

Emily Humphrey was one of the four Valdez High School students to graduate with both an Associates of Arts and high school diploma this May. Emily plans on attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks in the fall to pursue a bachelor's degree in secondary education and an EMT certificate. She plans to one day teach high school English and drama, and spend her summers working in emergency medical services.

PWSC Open House Scholarship Fundraiser

Prince William Sound College is hosting the Open House Scholarship Fundraiser on Saturday, May 4, from 11:00 to 2:00 in the parking lot and atrium of the Valdez Campus. Tickets are $20, $10 for twelve-and-under, and include a meal with pulled pork sandwiches, hotdogs, drinks, and sides. There will also be outdoor games.

Shahmeer Azmat is a nursing student at PWSC. He grew up in Pakistan and was inspired to go into the medical field after volunteering at an emergency department in his home city of 20 million people. During the summers he works as a wilderness therapy guide and he is an avid outdoor recreationist.
