Happy International Literacy Day!

Several students gathered around a table, studyingHappy International Literacy Day! On this day we celebrate the importance of literacy in many areas of life. Literacy skills allow us to communicate effectively with others by enhancing our use of language, allowing us to express our feelings, thoughts, and ideas with others more clearly. Literacy is valuable for everyone, and we can always continue to develop our literacy skills.

Here at PWSC, we offer courses and programs to help students develop literacy skills in many areas – whether it be students looking to develop reading and writing skills, or those who are looking to improve their oral English language skills.

Through PWSC, students can take creative writing and composition courses, through our Adult Secondary Education program, students seeking a high school equivalency diploma (GED®) can develop the literacy skills needed in the academic areas of Reading Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math. And PWSC also offers Tutoring and Occupational Development, English as a second language (ESL) classes, and a Civics and Citizenship class.
