The NSF ATE Conference is typically held in Washington D.C., with over 1,000 people in attendance. But this year, participants attended virtual sessions and presentations. Dr. Johnson was one of the presenters this year.
Sarah King is excited to start her studies at Prince William Sound College. She has been admitted into the outdoor leadership program. For Sarah, it was a desire to be “working for the park service” and a yearning “for a more rugged experience in the backcountry” that brought the New Jersey native to Valdez, Alaska.
For PWSC instructor Jim Pomplun, the main focus in his Introductory Geographic Information Systems (GIS) class this semester has been on teaching students about geographically mapping the local environment.
PWSC is closed for winter break! Normal business hours will resume on January 4, 2021. See you next year!
Congratulations to Yuliana on her success in completing the Certified Nurse Aide course and passing the state testing exams!
Laurie Brown is currently attending UAA’s nursing program in Valdez. Originally, she moved to Alaska to work as a river guide, and her love for the outdoors drew her to live near Valdez in the 46-mile neighborhood.
