Graduate spotlight: Sophia Hodgkins
by Vicki Heisser |
We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Sophia Hodgkins, a student at PWSC who
is graduating with her high school diploma and associate's degree. We asked her about
her experience at PWSC and how she balanced high school and college coursework.
Sophia shared that her experience at PWSC has been excellent. She appreciated how
welcoming the faculty and staff were and how they treated her like any other student.
Sophia gave a special shout-out to thank Dr. Dennis Humphrey, stating he was her favorite professor.
When asked about her plans after graduation, Sophia shared that she wants to pursue
a bachelor's degree in accounting but has yet to decide on a school. She also shared
that balancing high school and college coursework was challenging, especially working
part-time. However, Sophia emphasized the importance of staying focused and prioritizing
time.
Sophia's family has supported her academic pursuits, with her dad being her biggest
cheerleader. When asked for advice for someone pursuing a similar path, she recommended
not getting overwhelmed by the workload and staying focused on your goals, even if
it means missing out on some aspects of high school life.
Thank you, Sophia, for sharing your experience with us. Congratulation and we wish
you all the best in your future endeavors.
