Play Submissions

Submissions for the 2027 Play Lab are now open. Selected authors must register for the Conference (June 6-12) and be present for the reading in Valdez, Alaska. Registration is $250 (including all activities, a 2-hour glacier cruise, and daily lunch). Travel to Valdez is also the playwrights' responsibility. Minimal free communal housing is available.

Alaskans and past participants have until November 20 to submit. For playwrights who don't meet either of those criteria, the Conference will consider the first 300 submissions, closing earlier than 11/20 if they are received before then. 

Submission Guidelines
1. One submission per author.
2. Running time 10 to 120 minutes.
3. No more than 10 actors required. 
4. No prior professional productions or publications. 
5. No musicals. 
6. PDF or Word documents accepted. 

Plays should be submitted online. The Coordinator will confirm receipt of your play within a week of submission.
