Occupational Endorsement Certificate (OEC) in Web Engineering

Students can complete this program completely online

This certificate prepares students to fill positions as web designers or bolster their office and administrative skill set. Students learn programming and scripting languages as well as web design skills that equip them to fill openings for web developers or to stand out when applying for positions or promotions that require web development and design skills.

This series of courses prepares students to fill entry-level positions working the IT fields of web development, programming, and database administration.

Learn how to combine HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL database content into commercially-oriented webpages that are valid, accessible, and compliant.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), demand for web engineers continues to grow: overall employment for developers and designers is projected to grow by 21,800 new jobs (on top of all of the existing ones) each year through 2031 (https://www.bls.gov/.../computer-and.../web-developers.htm). Given their digital nature, many of these jobs can be done remotely, providing opportunities for rural Alaskans and Alaskan businesses.
