COVID-19 Update

Prince William Sound College will continue its popular "for Teachers" courses online. Course costs have been reduced to $119 for 3 500-level UAA credits. Classes will cover content in ALEKS Math, ALEKS Chemistry, Web Database Systems (MySQL), or NCCER Certification. Classes will be taught synchronously online and with instructor directed hands-on experiential learning projects that students can do at their homes. More information can be found on here.

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) offers a nationally recognized training program in a variety of craft trades and vocations such as construction, welding, millwright, maritime, weatherization, and cold climate construction. The Core Curriculum is the first course in each of these craft trades. This course focuses on certifying high school teachers as Core Curriculum instructors, enabling high school students to receive NCCER Core Curriculum Certification.

Scholarships

Prince William Sound College was recently awarded a DEED grant to support teachers and paraprofessionals with a direct role in teaching CTE to become NCCER certified instructors. Scholarships will provide tuition, travel expenses (up to $345), lodging in apartment-style dorms, $150 teachers stipends, and NCCER certification.
