Occupational Endorsement Certificates (OECs)
Quickly learn and develop skills for employability in high-demand industries. Programs can be completed in 1-2 semesters!
PWSC offers OECs in Web Engineering, Marine Service Technology, Construction Skills, Millwright, and Natural Resources Technician.
Free tuition and housing for Alaska high-schoolers! Scholarships and financial aid available for all other qualifying students!
Web Engineering OEC:
- Prepares students to enter the information technology field as web developers. It can be completed as an online program and in two semesters.
Marine Service Technology OEC:
- Prepares students for technician-level work in the maritime industry. This can be completed in-person in Valdez, Alaska, in one semester.
Construction Skills OEC:
- Teaches students to perform building and facility maintenance and repair. This can
be completed in-person in Valdez, Alaska, in one semester.
Millwright OEC:
- Trains students to maintain industrial machinery used in the oil, gas, mining, and
fishing industries in Alaska. This can be completed in-person in Valdez, Alaska, in
two semesters.
Natural Resources Technician OEC:
- Teaches students the knowledge and skills needed for an entry-level position in a natural resources career. Program can be completed in-person in Valdez, Alaska, in one semester.

Grants and scholarships
Alaska high-schoolers qualify for a grant that will cover all tuition and housing expenses for the Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 Semesters! Adult learners and non-high school students may be eligible for scholarships, grants, and other financial aid!
Student Housing
The PWSC Valdez Campus offers students fully furnished, apartment-style student housing. Both full-time and part-time students can live in our on-campus housing. Each residence has a laundry facility and lounge on site.
