Hilcorp Alaska presented at PWSC for millwright students, providing career opportunities, industry knowledge, and real-world insights. It created networking and recruitment potential for the company while offering career guidance and inspiration to the students.
AGRI A104 class teaches practical knowledge and skills for managing natural resources. A wildlife biology and management class session led by Heidi Hatcher from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game helped students improve their radio-tracking skills. This hands-on activity illustrated wildlife population management methodologies, enhancing their problem-solving and analytical skills.
A PWSC alumnus, Matt Schiffner, spoke to first-year outdoor leadership students about his experiences. He shared his passion for the outdoors, gave practical advice, and credited his brother, coach, and Silas Jensen for shaping his values and work ethic.
PWSC recently caught up with one of its alums, Gabe Hansen, to learn about his incredible journey from the marine services technology program to success in the world of outboard motors, ATVs, and snowmobiles. When asked about his experience in the program, Hansen shared, "It was awesome!" He continued, "I learned a lot about professionalism, taking your time, thinking about what you're doing, and doing it right. I use those lessons every day."
