Summer internships with the BLM

Four PWSC students will be spending their summer in internship positions with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). PWSC partners with the BLM to offer internship opportunities to our students. View more information on PWSC student internship opportunities with the BLM.

PWSC asked these students what they hope to gain from their experience and here is what they had to say:

Jeremy Gallman: "Over the summer I'll be working as a media intern with the Bureau of Land Management. I wish to gain outdoor experience on multi-day outings, expand my understanding of Alaska's diverse landscape, and capture the great outdoors."

Alisa Heller: “I will be a Lands Realty Intern. I hope to gain better social skills from meeting and working with new people. I want to have a better understanding of all the things the BLM does.”

Mataya Clark: “I will be joining the Outdoor Youth Leadership Program this summer. My goal is to learn more about the outdoors, how to properly use a firearm, and gain more knowledge about mud volcanoes and the many beautiful aspects of Alaska!”

Kelly McLaughlin: "This summer, I am excited to say, I will be doing the outdoor recreation management internship. With this internship, I am extremely excited about the opportunity to learn more hands-on skills and working with other individuals who love Alaska!"
