SAAM activities throughout April

Join us for activities throughout the month of April in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness and Action Month (SAAM). All activities are FREE to attend!

Traveling Postcard Activity

The Traveling Postcard Activity is an event in honor of SAAM. All are invited to attend and help us make postcards for encouragement for survivors of violence in Alaska. This event will be held in the PWSC atrium at 1:30 p.m. on April 18. This event is open to all students, community members, staff and faculty. Registration page on the Continuing Education website.

One Love - Escalation Workshop

The Escalation Workshop is a film-based discussion that will help people become aware of the warning signs of relationship abuse. The event will be held in room 153 from 3:30-5 p.m. on April 18. This event is open to dual-credit and college students of PWSC. Registration page on the Continuing Education website.

Brunch and Bystanders

PWSC students, join us for brunch and a discussion on how to be an active bystander in our community! Join us on April 19 in room 153 from 10-11:15 a.m. Registration page on the Continuing Education website.

Panel Discussion

PWSC will be hosting a panel discussion on:

    -Creating a culture of consent on college campuses

    -Discussing the role of Title IX

    -Tips for healthy communication and resolving conflict

   -Community collaboration around active bystanding and violence prevention efforts in Valdez

This discussion will be held at the PWSC Sugarloaf Training Hall from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. It is FREE to attend and all members of the community are welcome. Registration page on the Continuing Education website.

Let's Talk About Sex (and Candy!)

PWSC students, join us for conversation, mocktails, candy, games, and fun. Topics include: safe sex, consent, and STDs. This event will be held in the studio of the Health and Fitness Center on April 20 at 3 pm. Registration page on the Continuing Education website.
