woman graduating and she is surrounded by other peopleKamila Xavier's journey as a single parent returning to school and pursuing a Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) career is remarkable, considering the trauma she has endured as a survivor of abuse. The impact of trauma can be deeply rooted and have a lasting effect on an individual's life, but Kamila refused to let her past define her future.

The road to recovery from trauma is not easy, and Kamila's journey is no exception. It takes immense courage and strength to face the healing challenges, but she did not let it stop her from pursuing her goals. She knew her pursuits were providing for her son and helping others in the healthcare industry, and she remained determined to achieve her goals.

Balancing schoolwork, childcare, and part-time jobs while dealing with the effects of trauma was no easy feat for Kamila, but she persevered. The support and guidance of her instructors, Chris Johnson and Monique Clupper were invaluable in helping her navigate the challenges she faced. The clinical portion of the CNA program gave her the hands-on experience she needed to develop her skills and further her career.

As Kamila prepares to take her state certification exam and continues her journey in the healthcare industry, she wants others facing similar challenges not to give up. With courage and determination, and support, you can reclaim your life. Kamila's journey serves as a reminder that healing from trauma is a complex but achievable process. It takes time, patience, and a robust support system to overcome the challenges of trauma, but it is possible. Anything is possible with dedication, hard work, and a supportive network; Kamila's story is a testament to this.

Congratulations Kamila!
