After years of dedicated service, George Keeney is retiring from his position as Allied
Health Coordinator and EMS/ICS/Hazmat Instructor at PWSC. He has also taught Wilderness
First Aid, Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT), and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
classes at Valdez High School. His passion for saving lives and teaching others how
to do the same has impacted hundreds of students. His legendary generosity across
his long history of public service throughout Valdez will be missed but not forgotten.
Thank you, George, for building and maintaining a foundation of excellence and compassion
that will inspire and influence future generations, especially at a time when we need
that level of understanding and commitment to service.
As one student wrote that the ETT and EMT classes "give students something that they
can take on into adulthood, and even if they don't enjoy it, it gives them the knowledge
that may save lives someday."
There's no need to worry - George will still be around campus sometimes. He'll be
working as an adjunct faculty member and will continue to teach some of our CPR, First
Aid, and AED classes.
Again, George, thank you for your extraordinary contributions and for leaving an indelible
mark on our institution.
